AboutAyutthaya

Ayutthaya (Full name: Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thai: พระนครศรีอยุธยา) is a city in Central Thailand, less than 100 km from Bangkok. The city is named after the Indian city of Ayodhya. Ayutthaya is the capital of Ayutthaya province and the Amphoe (district) Ayutthaya. The city has approximately 70,000 inhabitants.

The modern city is close to the ancient city of Ayutthaya, the capital of the ancient kingdom of Ayutthaya. The Ayutthaya Historical Park, which includes the old city, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The best Ayutthaya hotels and resorts and other accomodation are located in the new part of the city, but do not skip the old part of town if you are in ruins, Thai culture and historical buildings.
